New Team Texas Google Group

Team Texas - Turning Texas AroundTeam Texas – Turning Texas Around

Hey fellow Texans,

We’re in the preliminary stages but are eager to keep the fire burning and the parasites to a minimum. Consider this a meeting ground for honest people who want to organize and turn Texas around. A few goals of ours:

To promote common sense and common honesty for common people

To provide a forum for independent minded people to discuss and debate Texas’ issues and offer creative compromises to move forward instead of left or right

To provide a forum for local journalism and for organizing locally to become active in your community – all politics is local

To promote political reform through fair ballot access, fair and open debates, initiative and referendum, same day voter registration, publicly funded campaigns, lobby reform and redistricting reform

To take a closer look at how we conduct elections

The Team Texas Google Group is not the same thing as the NEW site we’ll be launching soon. So have a great, fun, and safe Thanksgiving and don’t forget to tell all your friends and family to join Team Texas. By discussions, click view all to find your area and check in once you sign up. It just takes a minute.

Will You Keep the Momentum?

Leave a comment so we can compile a database of independently minded Texans, and hell, all Americans are welcome. If you have any ideas or resources available like writing skills, computer skills, financial capabilities, or anything else you feel would benefit the uprising of a new independent voice for Texas, the bigger the army the better. All politics is local, so we would start there but with a national vision. We haven’t received an official endorsement of, but we have the personal blessings of Dean Barkley, Laura Stromberg, Chris Duel (radio talk show host in San Antonio), and already a list of 15-20 people wanting to lend a helping hand.

We don’t know where we’re taking this, but we feel there needs to be a voice for all the concerns of independently minded people, whether you lean left or lean right, and we need to keep the momentum going through the next election and then the next.

When you leave a comment, make sure to put your email address in the blank space provided, not in the actual comment. You don’t have to say much, just a hello, but if you have ideas or any resources available, let us know. Stick around folks, the party just started.

Cue the Jeopardy Soundtrack

We’re working relentlessly trying to bring you a new forum for Independent Texans. We hope to have something up in the next week or two, so please stick around. Many of us, and when I say that, I mean me, are playing catch up with work and school, but look forward to some big changes in the near future. Cody and I are brainstorming, and we do read every single comment for ideas. Keep them coming. We are listening.

In the mean time, we thank Chris Duel for providing this footage. Here’s Kinky in San Antonio at a book signing on November 11th.

This is just the beginning.

This has been a long and valuable experience for all those involved. I have to go to school right now, but rest assure, we are here to stay. Cody, Rob, Jeremy, Andrew, and a lot of others have emailed us already, and for everyone’s information, we’re not going anywhere except forward. We’re working a new project to keep this independent movement going. We are unsure of the details, or where we’re headed, but our hearts and passion will not be wasted. Please stick around and join us on our next journey. All of our profiles on the right have our contact information, so those of you wanting to help out on the next journey, we welcome you with open arms.

Sincerely with all my heart,

Robert Hinojosa

Next stop Austin HQ, well the restroom first. Then food. Then Austin HQ after we pump gas. My brakes are totally messed up so a fellow Kinky fan from San Antonio, Laura is giving me a ride up to Austin. Big thanks. I’m so excited to meet Kinky Staffers and Crew at HQ and maybe they’ll have something fun for me to do. I hear the Kinkster’s going to be there watching the returns. Hopefully my wireless works. Stick around.

Happy Birthday, Kinky!

Kinky Friedman’s birthday is this Wednesday, November 1st. What he wants for his birthday is for the hundreds of thousands of people who’ve voiced their support for his candidacy through donations, MySpace, facebook, and petition signatures to get as many of their real-life friends as possible to get to the polls and vote. There’s no reason to wait until election day, and given the insane early voting numbers we’ve seen so far, there’s every reason to believe the polling places are going to be awfully crowded come November 7th.

So long as you’re voting for the candidate you believe in, you cannot waste your vote, and if enough people vote for the candidate they believe in, Kinky Friedman *will* be the next Governor of Texas. Let’s make sure we’ve all done what we can to make our votes, our contributions, our signatures, and all the time we’ve put into the campaign count.

A Must See – Mass Email It To Everyone

Check out this interview and mass email it to all your friends and family along with this picture.

The interview is complete, lengthy, and detailed. Remember to tell your friends and family that they can vote today.

Everyone should write a thank you to the interviewer or perhaps even the Chron.

Early Voting Starts Tomorrow!

There is nothing more important over the next week than to encourage people to vote, even if you’re not sure they’re planning on voting for Kinky. The more people who vote, the harder the people are to ignore.

In case you need inspiration, here’s a music video put together by Dallas-based Potted Meat Product:
