Cue the Jeopardy Soundtrack
We’re working relentlessly trying to bring you a new forum for Independent Texans. We hope to have something up in the next week or two, so please stick around. Many of us, and when I say that, I mean me, are playing catch up with work and school, but look forward to some big changes in the near future. Cody and I are brainstorming, and we do read every single comment for ideas. Keep them coming. We are listening.
In the mean time, we thank Chris Duel for providing this footage. Here’s Kinky in San Antonio at a book signing on November 11th.

Well said! I really do feel for him…He has made the smart Texans proud ( too bad there isn’t that many of us in whole). My sign is still up in my room window and will remain there for as long as possible…I think after awhile ( although how long does it take!) people will have been wishing they voted for Kinky…All I can say is they should have done it when they had the best chance in the world! He did all he could.I really am inspired by the man….

Why not a How to Guide for Independent Texans who feel the need for change in local elections. Kinky’s organization has the knowledge, research and experience to provide a valuable tool for concerned citizens across Texas looking for real choices in city and county management. I’m talking about a step by step guide for individuals who want to serve their community. Directions and sample forms for a petition drive; rules, regulations and the critical time line to get your name on the ballot as an independent; fundraising how to and media management. I would volunteer to do all I could for a Kinky Guide to Getting on the Ballot.

The boys from Hidalgo are always up for a fight. We survived the election with sadness in our eyes, broken wallets and fire in our hearts. The voice, the change begins with us. The only causes worth fighting for are lost causes.-KINKY FRIEDMAN

Election results on a county by county basis really matter. We all know that Perry lost 61% of the Texas voting public. In my county Bandera, the results were Perry 39%, Kinky 28%, Strayhorn 18%, Bell 13%, Others 1%. I may be wrong but this tells me that 46% of folks in my county are independent thinkers. I cant help but wonder if we had independent candidates for commissioners, judges, sheriff, etc., instead of one party crumbs we would have a feast of smart leaders and managers.

I’m really excited about Kinky coming to Las Vegas this month! I’ll definitely be there with his book in hand. Born and raised in a small Texas town, now a Las Vegas resident of many years. Kinky makes me proud of my Texas roots… What a guy! Judy, Las Vegas.
